"Craig will be here this afternoon," Savannah announced later that morning during a lull in the activity at her booth.

"He must not be very busy right now," Brianna said, "or did he drop everything for you?"

"For Rags," Savannah said. "Oh, and I got an interesting email from someone who might have seen Rags. That’s exciting news."

"What’s exciting?" Rochelle asked, walking up to the booth with Peter, Simon, and Ava."

"Hi," Savannah greeted. "You’ve come to see the cat show, have you?"

Simon nodded.

Savannah ran her hand over Ava’s arm as Peter held her. "What are you doing out of your stroller, little one?" she asked, smiling.

"She wanted to see everything better," Simon said. "She couldn’t see that good from her stroller."

Rochelle smiled at the boy, then asked Savannah, "Did something happen? Has someone seen Rags?"

"Maybe," Savannah said.

Rochelle brightened. "So it’s possible he’s actually wandering around on his own."

Savannah nodded. "Exactly. Oh, I talked to one of the booksellers earlier who thinks she knows the old guy. She says he is Polish and he loves cats. He lives with his daughter not too far from here. Evidently he walks around the area a lot and often stops to talk to neighborhood cats, but this gal can’t imagine him taking someone’s cat. I have an address for him in case we want to check him out when Craig gets here."

"So Craig’s coming, is he?" Rochelle asked.

Savannah nodded.

"What about the person who sent you that picture you think might be Rags?" Brianna asked. "Where did she say she saw him? Do you think it’s Rags?"

"It could be," Savannah said. "It’s not a very good picture, but it sure could be Rags." She tapped on her phone screen, then held it out to her. "Is that Rags?"

"You know him better than we do," Brianna said, "but yeah, it could be him. What do you think?" she asked, moving aside so Rochelle could see the photo.

"It does look like him," Rochelle said.

"Like who?" Simon asked, moving closer.

"Rags," Savannah said, showing him and Peter the image.

"Is he staying at that house?" Simon asked.

"No." Savannah said. "If that is Rags, he stopped by and had dinner there with some cats the woman feeds on her patio. She noticed him because she’d never seen him before. She talked to a neighbor about the new cat and that woman had seen the posters you guys put up." She raised her hand for a high five with Simon. "Good job, buddy, with those posters. I’ve actually had texts and calls from about five different people who saw them. I’ve made note of the addresses, so when Craig gets here we can maybe chart his possible route—find out where he’s been and where he might be headed."

"I’m glad the posters are helping," Simon said. "I really, really want Rags to come back."

Just then a woman approached Savannah’s booth calling, "Ms. Ivey, Ms. Ivey, I think I just saw your cat. You lost your cat, didn’t you—the cat you had here with you yesterday? I’m showing my Abyssinians at the cat show, and I heard about someone taking your cat.
